Profile

Cade M. Gossett began at Ashcraft & Gerel as a Law Clerk in May 2023 while completing his legal education. Since joining the firm, he has focused primarily on complex mass tort litigation. His work has centered on the Camp Lejeune Toxic Water Litigation, helping to secure justice for service members and their families who were exposed to contaminated water at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Cade’s practice continues to involve managing these cases through the federal court system.

Law School

Cade earned his Juris Doctor from Charleston School of Law, where he distinguished himself through leadership and service. He served as President of the Charleston School of Law Ambassador program and Vice President of the Trial Advocacy Board, while also being recognized as Senator of the Year for his outstanding service as a 3L Senator in the Student Bar Association.

His membership in Phi Delta Phi legal honor society and participation in several Sports Law competitions reflected his commitment to both ethical practice and his continuing interest in athletics.

Beyond the classroom, Cade gained practical experience through multiple roles. At the Street Law Clinic, he taught weekly classes and coached students in mock trial preparation, demonstrating his dedication to legal education and community service. Through additional clerkships, he handled matters across various practice areas including probate, personal injury, estate, family, and criminal law.

Outside the Law

Cade credits his roots in Centre, Alabama with instilling the values that drive his legal practice today. In this close-knit community, he learned that true advocacy means treating clients like family and approaching each case with genuine care and dedication. These hometown principles remain at the core of his work, making complex legal matters more approachable for his clients while vigorously defending their interests.

Before pursuing his legal career, Cade excelled in the fast-paced world of collegiate athletics at The University of Alabama, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications. As a Sports Information Director Assistant for Alabama Athletics, he honed his skills in clear communication and quick thinking while managing media relations and creating content for one of the nation’s premier athletic programs.

Sports and community service remain central to Cade’s life. While in law school, Cade served as Captain of the Charleston School of Law softball team. Today, he volunteers as a youth baseball and flag football coach, fostering youth development in the Charleston community.

Cade enjoys spending time in Charleston with his wife Emily and his new daughter Ellery, exploring all that the Lowcountry has to offer.
