Michelle A. Parfitt, a Senior Partner of Ashcraft & Gerel, was recently inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL) at their Annual Meeting held March 21-25, 2018.
Ms. Parfitt will be among an elite group of 500 active trial attorneys from the United States to receive this exclusive, invitation-only IATL Fellowship. Trial lawyers become Fellows only after a rigorous vetting process, which includes both peer and judicial review. Ms. Parfitt is also a Fellow in both the International Society of Barristers (ISOB) and the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA)
Over the last 37 years, Michelle Parfitt has represented thousands of individuals in various state and federal courts across the country in complex pharmaceutical, medical device, and product liability cases. Ms. Parfitt has distinguished herself as a champion of individual rights and a leader before the bar in the area of mass torts.
Among her many accolades, Ms. Parfitt holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and has been selected by her peers to be included in “Best Lawyers in America,” “Super Lawyers,” and “Best Lawyers in Washington, DC” publications. Ms. Parfitt has served in numerous leadership and committee positions for the American Association for Justice, the Council for Court Excellence and past president of the DC Trial Attorneys. Ms. Parfitt is a frequent lecturer in the area of Product Liability and Mass Torts, as well as a Lead or PEC Member for multiple MDL’s.
Chartered in 1954, the Academy’s general purposes are to cultivate the science of jurisprudence, promote reforms in the law, facilitate the Administration of Justice, and elevate the standards of integrity, honor and courtesy in the legal profession.
