FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Alexandria, VA)—Ashcraft & Gerel, LLP, one of the nation’s largest personal injury practices, is proud to announce that managing partner Allen Lowe has been officially appointed to the Wage and Hour Advisory Board. This prestigious appointment will enable Allen to lend guidance in a number of areas, including reviewing and establishing national best practices, enforcement strategy, misclassification issues, and general awareness of the law.
As one of only four advisers serving this next term, Allen is looking forward to helping more people understand this complicated practice area. When asked about being honored with the appointment, Allen replied, “It’s a privilege to be able to help those working people who through no fault of their own have been taken advantage of and who now may receive the money they were entitled to.”
The Wage and Hour Advisory Board was created to support and promote the efforts of unions, community groups, worker centers, legal services advocates, private plaintiffs’ attorneys and others who are working to make headway against wage theft and other wage-related issues through private litigation, policy advocacy, and organizing. With a career focus on workers’ compensation claims for injured individuals, Mr. Lowe’s more than 40 years of experience with Ashcraft & Gerel uniquely qualifies him to serve on the board in this capacity.
Allen went on to say, “Whether we’re helping unsuspecting parents whose child is suffering as a result of lead paint poisoning or assisting an employee who has been a victim of wage theft, our team is committed to providing the best resources and representation possible to ensure justice is served in every case. I am honored to serve on The Wage and Hour Advisory Board with those who share the same sentiment.”
About Ashcraft & Gerel, LLP:
In 1953, Lee C. Ashcraft and Martin E. Gerel founded Ashcraft & Gerel, LLP in a two-story walk-up in Washington, D.C. with the belief that those injured on the job deserved the best representation the law could offer. In the 60 years since, Ashcraft & Gerel has grown to become one of the largest personal injury firms in the United States with nearly 40 attorneys practicing throughout Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
Still, they remain committed to helping individuals who have been injured or wronged and now find themselves facing a legal battle against their own employers, major insurance companies, medical institutions or some other corporate entity with seemingly insurmountable resources.
Working exclusively with plaintiffs, their attorneys help to level the playing for clients, now across a wide range of practice areas, from personal injury to medical malpractice, nursing home neglect, whistleblower discovery, and more. The firm has successfully obtained more than a billion dollars collectively in verdicts and settlements for their clients since opening their doors in 1953.
