Attorney Stephen Gensemer Calls for more Maryland State Bridge Inspections
Last week, a woman’s car was struck by falling concrete from a Maryland bridge. Her car was totaled.
The incident brings to light the bigger issue of the state of Maryland’s infrastructure. The bridge in this incident is only one of nearly 80 that have been categorized as “structurally deficient,” according to Maryland Highway officials. The situation garnered attention from the federal legistlature. The incident specifically, as well as the larger issue through out the state, was discussed my Maryland representatives on the Hill. Secretary of U.S. Transportation Anthony Foxx said, “There’s no excuse for that in America.” Attorney Stephen Gensemer, who is representing the driver of the totaled vehicle, echoed the Secretary’s sentiment on WMAL.
