Maryland Apartment Explosion
On August 11, 2016, just after midnight, a devastating and fatal explosion occurred in Montgomery County, Silver Spring Maryland at the Flower Branch Apartment Community on Piney Branch Rd. Over 30 residents were transported to local hospitals with injuries ranging from broken bones to smoke inhalation and burns. At this time, several people are unaccounted for. Over 160 fire and rescue workers were called to help fight the fires following the blast and officials have declared the scene a “mass casualty incident.” Our sympathy is with the people and families of Silver Spring who have been impacted by this explosion.
