Rebekah Arch Miller Senior Partner
With more than 15 years of legal experience and nearly 10 years of experience in patient care and hospital administration, Rebekah Miller has a well-earned reputation for her zeal to protect the rights of those made most vulnerable by flawed medical, insurance, and workers’ compensation systems.
Because of her unique professional background, Ms. Miller began her legal practice focusing on medical malpractice cases, but over the years has expanded her focus to include pharmaceutical litigation, workers’ compensation and Social Security and disability cases.
A native of Long Island, Ms. Miller began her professional career as a Registered Nurse. After earning a degree in nursing, Ms. Miller quickly climbed the ranks of hospital administration, first managing a nursing staff of 90 at a hospital in Texas, and then joining the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in New York City, where she acted as director of the hospital-based quality assurance and risk management program. She then moved to work at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Washington, D.C., where she developed and coordinated national risk management activities for the Department’s 172 medical centers, and developed, implemented and monitored a nation-wide method for physician performance monitoring, before she decided to pursue her law degree.
Ms. Miller’s epidemiological research includes participation in the Center for Disease Control’s national “Look-Back” study and appointment to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Oversight Committee of the nation’s largest managed care health system for participation in national drug usage evaluations. Ms. Miller received the Veteran’s Administration’s Special Contribution Award in 1989 and 1990 for her efforts in developing hospital-based quality assurance and risk management programs.
